SYSHP - Jobs - What Happens Next ?
When the closing date has been reached, the front sheet of the application form along with the equal opportunities monitoring sheets will be separated from the application form to ensure that the shortlisting process is carried out fairly and without discrimination.

Shortlisting process
Shortlisting will be carried out by at least two members of staff and a young persons' representative, who will score applications against the person specification.

Notification of Applicants
SYSHP will notify those applicants who have been successful in reaching a short list.

Interviews
Interviews will be carried out by a panel consisting of not less than two, normally three, people, and a young persons representative.

All interviewers have attended training in Recruitment and Selection.

All interviewers are trained in interviewing and are made aware of legal issues and the need to conduct the selection process in a fair way.

Candidates invited for interview will be given adequate notice to allow them to make arrangements to attend the interview.

Any candidate who requires special access or any other arrangements should contact: Jayne Thomas the Office Manager on 01792 537530.

A set of questions are drawn up for each vacancy and are asked of all candidates to ensure fairness. Additional questions may be asked to clarify points.

In addition to an interview, some jobs may require that other tests and selection techniques are used.

Any candidate who incurs expenses by attending the interview will have the opportunity of reclaiming those expenses from SYSHP.

All candidates who have been interviewed will be notified as soon as possible by telephone and/or writing of whether or not they have been successful.

All interview notes of unsuccessful candidates will be destroyed after six months.

Successful Candidate
The successful candidate may be notified initially by telephone. This will be followed up as soon as possible, by an offer of appointment in writing. The contract will be issued as soon as possible.

The appointment will be subject to a probationary period, the receipt of two written references that are acceptable to SYSHP.
